The HIMA Australia facilitated TÜV Functional Safety Program
HIMA Australia, in conjunction with TÜV Rheinland Group, offer the HIMA Australia facilitated TÜV Functional Safety Program. This Functional Safety Certification course is based on standards AS 61508 and AS 61511 and provides refresher training in Functional Safety aimed at giving participants the best possible opportunity to achieve TÜV certification.
Facilitated by a TÜV functional safety expert who has over twenty years of experience in the field of Functional Safety, this course is run with maximum attention to detail and utilises relatable examples taken from the trainer's own personal experience in functional safety.
If you are working in the area of Functional Safety, you may be required to prove your knowledge in the field. The HIMA Australia facilitated TÜV Functional Safety course provides you with this opportunity.
Eligibility pre-requisites apply.
Over three and a half days of enthusiastic interaction the course will cover:
- Introduction to Functional Safety:
- Lifecycle concept, documentation requirements, verification, validation, assessments and audits, modifications.
- Hazard & Risk Analysis:
- Hazard identification, hazard analysis - HAZOP, risk reduction, safety function definition. The use of different approaches and techniques such as Event Tree, Fault Tree Analysis, Layers of Protection Analysis. Differences with using the risk matrix and risk graph methodologies.
- Planning the Safety System:
- Planning for end users, integrators and realisation of safety systems, safety plan,
verification plan, validation plan, safety requirement specification, requirements for suppliers, FAT, SAT.
- Hardware Design:
- Hardware lifecycle, energise versus de-energise to trip, low demand, high demand, demand mode, continuous mode, redundancy, diversity, voting, hardware fault tolerance, safe failure fraction, type A/B, architectural constraints, proof testing, diagnostic tests, measures to avoid and control failures.
- Hardware Reliability:
